Disaster Simulation in Series

We, FPEC can carry out disaster simulation in series on the sequence from the initial events, such as leakage and evaporation to gas diffusion, fire and explosion, and can evaluate the Severity of each disaster.
The following is the sample list of the evaluation item per each step of disaster scenario.

Disaster
Scenario
Leak from
Sphere Tank
Crude Oil Tank
Full Surface Fire
Leak from Pressure Vessel
storing Toxic Gas
Contents

Leakage is occurred.
(calculate the
volume of

leakage and
evaporation gas)

Gas Diffusion
(calculate the area that
concentration of gas will be larger than
50% of LEL -
as the area in danger of
flash fire)

Ignited and flash fire
is occurred.
(calculate the area
enveloped by the flash fire)

As the result of back fire,
dike fire is occurred.
(calculate heat flux level
from fire)

Fail to extinguish the fire
and BLEVE is occurred.
(calculate the range of
pressure wave and area
in danger of spreading debris)

Fireball is occurred.
(calculate the heat flux from
the fireball)

Full surface fire
is occurred.

(calculate heat
flux level

from fire)

Fail to extinguish the fire
and boil-over is occurred.
(calculate the time of
boil-over and remaining volume of oil at
the boil-over)

Calculate the heat
flux level
from boil-over
and area of
splashing fired oil

Leakage is occurred.
(calculate the volume
of leakage and evaporation gas)

Gas Diffusion
(calculate the concentration of
gas as ppm, LEL,
or odor level
by each time step)

Also for VCE (Vapour Cloud Explosion), we can evaluate the Severity of pressure wave based on the scenario.
We also can conduct QRA to extract disaster scenario of high risks, and according to the scenario, we will carry out the evaluation of its Severity.
